Assault After Winning at Casino in Rose-Belle
A 58-year-old man was attacked after winning a significant amount at a casino, losing his ticket and other personal belongings.
A resident of Rose-Belle, aged 58, was recently the victim of an assault after leaving a casino on the night of Friday, July 17. He had won a winning ticket worth Rs 180,000, but his happiness was short-lived.
As he was heading to his car, he was attacked by two individuals. These criminals managed to steal his winning ticket, as well as his mobile phone and a sum of Rs 6,000 in cash. The altercation caused injuries to both of the victim’s knees, which required medical attention following the incident.
The authorities, including the Criminal Division of the Southern Investigation Unit (DCIU), were alerted and have launched an investigation to track down the assailants. This event highlights the dangers that individuals may face when leaving gaming establishments, especially late at night.
Residents of Rose-Belle and the surrounding areas are urged to remain vigilant, especially when carrying large sums of money or valuable items. The police have reminded the public that security measures can be taken to avoid such situations.
