A 22-year-old man from Cité-Bois-Marchand was arrested on Tuesday morning in Port-Louis during an operation by the Tornado Squad. The arrest took place on Farquhar Street, where officers suspected the young man of being involved in drug sales.
During a search conducted by the police, 17 doses of synthetic cannabinoids were discovered, carefully wrapped in aluminum foil. In addition to these doses, three packets containing other substances were also found in his possession.
This intervention by the Tornado Squad is part of a broader effort to combat drug trafficking in Port-Louis. Authorities continue to monitor sensitive areas, particularly around the Central Market, where illicit activities are often reported.
The young man was taken to the police station for questioning, and an investigation has been opened to determine the extent of his activities and any possible accomplices.
