A law enforcement operation led to the arrest of a thirty-year-old involved in drug trafficking activities.
On Monday, August 17, a joint operation by law enforcement in Gros Cailloux resulted in the arrest of a 39-year-old man suspected of drug trafficking. This operation was conducted by the Anti-Drug and Smuggling Unit (ADSU), in collaboration with the Special Support Unit (SSU) and the Special Response Group (SRG).
At around 10:05 AM, officers carried out a search at the suspect’s home, where he is unemployed. The results of this intervention were significant, as investigators discovered a variety of drugs, carefully packaged for sale. Among the seized substances were 5.28 grams of cannabis, 3.80 grams of cocaine, and 1.77 grams of ecstasy.
This operation is part of a broader effort to combat drug trafficking in Mauritius, where law enforcement is intensifying its efforts to eradicate this scourge. Authorities continue to urge the public to report any suspicious drug-related activities.
The suspect has been detained and will soon be brought before the courts, where he will face the charges against him.
