Stanley School Renamed in Honor of Jayen Cuttaree
The Cabinet has approved the renaming of the school to honor the memory of a former minister.
During its latest meeting, the Mauritian Cabinet approved the renaming of the Stanley Government School, which will now be known as Jayen Cuttaree. This decision aims to pay tribute to Jaya Krishna Cuttaree, a respected politician and public figure who passed away in 2022 at the age of 80.
Jayen Cuttaree, trained as a lawyer, held several ministerial positions throughout his career, leaving a significant mark on the Mauritian political landscape. His commitment and contributions to the development of education and Mauritian society have been widely recognized.
The renaming of the school is a way to perpetuate his memory and remind future generations of the importance of his legacy. The Stanley Government School, located in Stanley, will continue to play an important role in education while honoring the name of one who served his country with dedication.
