Dismantling of a Drug Trafficking Network Between Mauritius and Rodrigues
A resident of Crève-Cœur was arrested at the airport after the seizure of suspicious packages.
A drug trafficking network linking Mauritius and Rodrigues has been dismantled by the Anti Drug and Smuggling Unit (ADSU). This operation follows information received regarding the shipment of three suspicious packages to the port of Port-Mathurin.
The authorities acted swiftly by conducting thorough investigations at the Container Park, in collaboration with the Mauritius Revenue Authority (MRA). Despite using a false identity to ship the packages, investigators managed to identify the recipient, a 49-year-old man residing in Crève-Cœur.
While attempting to leave Rodrigues, the suspect was arrested at the airport, thus bringing an end to this drug trafficking route. This case highlights the commitment of law enforcement to combat drug trafficking and enhance security in the region.
