National Debate Competition Organized by NAFCO
NAFCO, a platform bringing together college students, announces a debate competition for October 13 in Port-Louis.
The National Forum for Colleges (NAFCO) is organizing a national debate competition scheduled for Thursday, October 13, at the Port-Louis municipal council hall. This event is open to all secondary school students across the country.
NAFCO, which brings together around a thousand students, aims to promote public speaking and critical thinking skills among young people. According to Alyssa Syrielle Rahilbhaye, the National Convenor of the organization, this competition seeks to encourage participants to defend their ideas while developing their ability to argue in a structured manner.
The debates will allow students to express themselves on various topics, thus fostering public speaking and the exchange of ideas. In addition to boosting the participants’ self-confidence, this initiative aims to create a collaborative learning space where young people can engage with important societal issues.
NAFCO therefore invites all secondary schools to register their teams to participate in this enriching competition. The debates are not only a platform for competition but also an opportunity for young people to learn from each other and share their perspectives on contemporary issues.
