Introduction of Two Bills for the 2026-2027 Budget
The Cabinet has approved the submission of two texts to the National Assembly, aimed at implementing budgetary measures.
The Mauritian Cabinet recently approved the introduction of two important bills in the National Assembly. This decision, made on July 24, aims to implement the measures announced in the 2026-2027 Budget.
The two texts submitted are the Finance Bill 2026 and the The Economic and Financial Measures (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill 2026. The first, the Finance Bill 2026, aims to amend 25 existing laws, primarily concerning taxation and public finances. These adjustments seek to improve fiscal management and address current economic needs.
The second bill, which has a broader scope, proposes amendments to 58 legislative texts. These modifications aim to strengthen the country’s economic and financial framework by introducing various measures and adapting to contemporary challenges.
These legislative initiatives are part of a commitment to energize the Mauritian economy and ensure responsible and effective financial management. The Cabinet’s approval marks a key step in the process of implementing budgetary commitments for the upcoming year.
